Once upon a time, there was an island where all the feelings lived: Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all of the others, including Love. One day it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink, so all constructed boats and left. Except for Love.

很久以前，有一座孤島，島上住著所有的情感：快樂，憂傷，知識，以及剩余的其他感情，其中也包括了愛。有一天，情感們得知，這座小島將要沉沒，他們都開始建造船只準備離開。除了一個人，愛。

Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to hold out until the last possible moment.

愛是唯一一個選擇留下的。它固執地想堅守到最后一秒。

When the island had almost sunk, Love decided to ask for help.

當整座島嶼幾乎覆滅時，愛決定向他人求助。

Richness was passing by Love in a grand boat. Love said,"Richness, can you take me with you?"

財富駛著一艘豪華游輪經過愛的身旁，愛懇求道：“財富啊，你能帶上我么？”

Richness answered, "No, I can't. There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no place here for you."

財富回答說：“不，不行。我的船上裝滿了金銀珠寶。沒有空地留給你啦。”

Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel. "Vanity, please help me!"

這時，愛的身側，虛榮架著一艘靚麗的輪船緩緩駛來，愛決定向虛榮求助：“虛榮，求求你幫幫我吧！”

"I can't help you, Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat," Vanity answered.

虛榮拒絕了：“我不能幫你，愛。你全身濕嗒嗒地，這會弄臟我心愛的船的。”

Sadness was close by so Love asked, "Sadness, let me go with you."

愛向近在咫尺的憂傷渴求道：“憂傷，讓我和你一起吧。

"Oh . . . Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself!"

“噢。。。愛，我實在是太傷心了，我需要一個人靜一會兒。”

Happiness passed by Love, too, but she was so happy that she did not even hear when Love called her.

快樂也從愛的身邊駛過，但是她太高興了，以至于完全沒有聽到愛的呼喚。

Suddenly, there was a voice, "Come, Love, I will take you." It was an elder. So blessed and overjoyed, Love even forgot to ask the elder where they were going. When they arrived at dry land, the elder went her own way. Realizing how much was owed the elder, Love asked Knowledge, another elder, "Who Helped me?"

突然，一個聲音映入耳簾，“快上了，愛，我來載你。”原來是名年邁的長者。愛如聞天籟，興奮不已，甚至忘了問問長者要他們要去往何方。當他們在一片干涸之地靠岸時，長者又踏上了自己的征程，獨自前行。愛意識到自己虧欠老者甚多，她趕忙詢問智慧老人，“幫助我的人是誰呀？”

"It was Time," Knowledge answered.

知識靜靜地答道：“那是時間。”

"Time?" asked Love. "But why did Time help me?"

“時間？”愛問道，“但時間為什么要幫助我呢？”

Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and answered, "Because only Time is capable of understanding how valuable Love is."

知識微微一笑，飽含深意，回答說：“因為只有時間才知道愛的珍貴價值。”
